Cheshire Contractors secured the winning bid for the replacement of multiple culverts along Hughenden Muttaburra Road. Our team constructed sidetracks for each culvert, ensuring seamless replacement works throughout the construction. Despite encountering unexpected rain during the project, we remained committed to delivering on time and within budget. John Holland Seymour White AECOM Joint Venture $481m
The E2G project is a $481m upgrade of 10.5km of Bruce highway between Edmonton and Gordonvale. This project will make travelling safer, more reliable and improve flood resilience for North Queensland. We at Cheshire Contractors were pleased to work with JSA JV in the construction of the project and assisting with the hire of our mobile plant equipment and skilled operators. Some of our equipment onsite included a D8T Dozer, Scrapers, Semi Water Trucks, Backhoes, Moxy Dump Trucks and an 815 Compactor.
Earthworks: Park upgrade - $120K
Bali Hai Caravan Park at Mission Beach wanted to expand the Park to allow for 47 New caravan Sites and a new amenities block. Our skilled team constructed a new access track to the amenities block and installed new sewer and water mains throughout the park, enhancing its infrastructure.
Roadworks: NQCC- $310K
Cheshire Contractors collaborated with North Queensland Civil Contractors (NQCC) as a sub-contractor on the construction of approaches and drainage for the new Burleigh Bridge Crossing. The remote location added complexity, but our seamless partnership with NQCC transformed challenges into opportunities. Leveraging our professionalism, the project was not only completed ahead of schedule but also resulted in significant cost savings for the client. The teamwork on this project, showcased our ability to deliver exceptional results even in challenging environments.
Earthwork: Ports North - $315K
Cheshire Contractors achieved triumph once again, securing the contract for Ports North's Relocation of Surcharge Material – marking the third collaboration with the Port Authority for works of this nature. Our task encompassed loading surcharge material at one site, transporting it across the road, and methodically compacting it in layers. Demonstrating our efficiency, the project was completed ahead of schedule, allowing us to pass on cost savings to our valued client.
Subdivision: Private Developers - $350K
Cheshire Contractors took on the challenge of constructing Serenity Stage 1 in Mission Beach, a small subdivision project, amid the town's booming development. Approached by a forward-thinking developer, we faced the tight deadline of completing the project just before the onset of the wet season and the holiday shutdown. Leveraging our expertise, we successfully delivered the subdivision on time, ensuring the blocks were ready for sale during the holiday season. The lots, crafted with precision, garnered significant interest and witnessed multiple sales over the holidays, highlighting our commitment to efficient project execution and contributing to the growth of Mission Beach.
Roadworks: Flinders Shire Council - $550K
Cheshire Contractors proudly took charge of the Northeast town sector restoration project, funded by Flinders Shire Council under the Queensland Reconstruction Activity (QRA) arrangements. Damage caused by monsoon flooding, our team executed essential tasks, including Medium and Heavy formation Grading, Gravel Re-sheeting, and drain cleaning. Despite facing logistical challenges, such as limited water availability and distant fill points exceeding 40km, we strategically deployed additional water trucks to ensure uninterrupted productivity. Our commitment to overcoming hurdles ensured the timely delivery of the project, contributing to the restoration of vital public assets for the community.
Subdivision: FGF - $700K
FGF entrusted Cheshire Contractors with the critical earthworks for The Palms Stage 1 & 2 subdivision in Cairns. While using our innovative drone survey technology, we identified an over-calculation in quantities, ultimately reducing costs for the client. The project, encompassing tasks such as striping and respreading topsoil, bulk cut to fill, and precise trimming to design levels, was executed flawlessly. Cheshire Contractors, proud to collaborate with FGF once again, delivered the project ahead of schedule and under the estimated cost. New Depot
Cheshire Contractors were pleased to be working with Blenner's again, this time performing earthworks in preparation for a new depot on Links Rd Woree. Works include stripping, cutting and importing fill, roll, grade and trim subgrade for pavement bed, sub-base pavement and subsoil drainage.
